Respecting copyright
Canvas respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. We respond to valid notices under the U.S. DMCA and equivalent notice-and-action laws in other regions (see below).
Filing a notice
Use our interactive Report a Rights/Copyright Concern form (linked below) to file under the framework that applies to you — US DMCA, EU DSA, UK OSA, Canada's Notice-and-Notice regime, or Nigeria's Copyright Act 2022 — or email dmca@canvasmusic.app directly with: identification of the work, the infringing material's location, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and (for US DMCA) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorised to act.
Response windows & escalation
US DMCA: acknowledged within 2 business days, actioned within 10-14 business days; counter-notice available. EU DSA: reviewed under our Art. 16 notice-and-action procedure; escalate to your national Digital Services Coordinator. UK OSA: reviewed under our complaints procedure; escalate to Ofcom. Canada: actioned within 2-10 business days under the Notice-and-Notice regime. Nigeria: actioned per our standard takedown procedure; escalate to the Nigerian Copyright Commission.
Counter-notices
If your content was removed in error you may submit a counter-notice with the same details and a consent to jurisdiction.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly infringe will be terminated. We maintain an audit log of takedown actions.
